The story so far

Arctic Corsair was launched on 29 February 1960 at Cook, Welton & Gemmell’s Beverley yard for the Boyd Line. As a sidewinder, she worked her trawl from the side of the vessel. Her story offers a way into the skills, routines and family connections behind Hull’s distant-water fishing industry.

Vessel sources & research

Researched October 2026. This is a growing vessel record. Crew-list coverage and dates are explained above; a name’s absence is not evidence that someone never served. Corrections and documents are welcome at info@hessleroad.com.
